I leaped with joy when I watched a Kenyan runner say, it’s the slow running that builds you. When we do the interval running perhaps our legs and feet hurt for 10 minutes, but when you’re slow, with your heart in zone 2, with the pace that you’re not willing to share to the world for about an hour, your ego hurts.
Then I look it up on Gemini 😅. She said they’re 4 benefits on slow running:
- Aerobic engine: Grows more mitochondria in your cells to produce energy.
- Fat burning: Trains your body to use fat for fuel instead of quick sugar.
- Low injury risk.
- Faster recovery after hard days.
I am a proud slow runner!
