Name the most expensive personal item you’ve ever purchased (not your home or car).
My sanity, that’s the most expensive thing I own. Almost a decade ago, I need to pay a hell of money to the cunning and greedy lawyer just to settle my divorce. I have to pay a lot of staycation when my life turbulence was at its peak. I bought a lot of books to calm my monkey mind, I paid a subscription to the meditation app, I dined in lots of fancy restaurants just to feel: I can do this thing by myself!
The most expensive things we have are not things.
Just yesterday I visited a friend in a hospital, his wife is having a troubled pregnancy and he said that he is willing to sell anything he could sell just to ensure that his wife and his baby will be safe and healthy. That’s expensive….
Another friend is having a problem at her marriage and she would have to prepare to divorce his second husband. They’ve just been married for 2 years. 2 years. And she’s the one who brings the bread to the table. That’s expensive… A heartbreak is often the most expensive thing that hits us unexpectedly.
I am learning to live day to day now, to live and love in the present; not tied up my mind to the tyranny of the past stories and not to worry so much about what would happen in the future. It’s a real struggle since I’m used to worry about everything. I decided to be in this day to day state, only after I made a very expensive financial mistake.
Cheers, may you be at peace my dearest reader,
K Sabrina
