When we feel we run on empty, depleted, emotionally and physically tired, can meditation help?

Good question. 

True, we do need energy to do meditation, we need energy to be present, to concentrate, but at the same time, meditation is also acknowledged where we are.

And to know where we are, to know that our body is tired or even exhausted is a kind of self compassion. When you're meditating and you acknowledge that you're tired, put your hands on your chest and say: I know you're really tired now, it's okey, we will rest for now, we can always try again tomorrow.
