Two days ago, I tapped the refresh button on my budgeting app, YNAB.. ow you haven’t tried it yet? You have no idea what YNAB is? My dear… If you are just like me, a mere mortal who is trying her best to make sense of her budget, a well intended adult who try to stretch her salary just a little bit longer, a naive punk who is a hardcore believer that a budget can save your life, well… You need to try this app: YNAB (You Need A Budget).

This app has a very handy Refresh button, I push this button whenever I feel overwhelmed with my financial things, this button provide a new start in budgeting, no questions asked, no records or PIN numbers needed, you just started fresh. The only thing that we need to remember is that we should start new with our actual amount of cash ( no matter cash in hand or in bank, what matter is you know how much there really is).

I have tapped this refresh button for .. I have no idea .. it’s definitely more than 5 times already… And I used to feel ashamed about it. But not anymore, I realized that I learned to budget in my own way… Slower or faster is irrelevant adjective to describe my progress. I will starting fresh if I think I need it. Every start also provide so much lessons so I could manage the budget better after the starting point.

The latest feature I add up on my budget is that I have added a list of all credit cards installments, I also put on remarks the estimated settled date. It’s not a really good looking data, but everytime I see this list, the wanting to shop by using the credit cards just evaporated so fast. I’ll stick my eyes on the list.. up to the end of this year… My future me will love me for this 🤭🤭.

Cheers, happy budgeting,

Karin Sabrina
