Write a love letter to your winter self—the version of you that withdraws, slows down, and rests.
Dear wintering self,
Take your time to rest—it’s okay, truly. You’ve been doing your part: working hard, showing up, day after day. You even make space to greet your dear friends with warmth. But today, you’re home. You’re napping, folding laundry, sipping hot tea. It’s a quiet day, and I know how deeply you cherish this kind of stillness. I’m genuinely happy for you.
But love, may I gently suggest something?
Scrolling through social media doesn’t feel like real rest. You watch strangers sell advice wrapped in filters and ads, no matter how often you tap I don’t want to see this. They keep coming. Your attention is precious—golden, even—and that’s why the feed won’t let go easily.
This is sacred time, this wintering. You’re on your period, your energy soft and slow. You need stillness, not stimulation. You know how quickly anxiety sneaks in when your mind gets too loud. So maybe, just for now, let’s set the phone down. Maybe even make it a little ritual—one day a week, just us, unplugged?
What do you think, my love?
I know you’ll say yes.
Until tomorrow, dear heart. May you feel lighter when the sun rises.
With all my warmth,
Always,
Karin Sabrina
