Period

Let’s do a body scan today, I have my period, it’s on the second day; the heaviest flow. I am not feeling well for sure. The dip in my Serotonin – the happy hormones made me feel low and sad, for no obvious reason. My anxiety is skyrocketing along with “I don’t care about anything at all” mode; so yep.. it’s all overwhelming and irritating.

Okay, I’ll scan the body, like in the meditation class, I am starting from my feet and up to my head, I do feel sore on my calves and thighs, back pain, stomach discomfort, and even nausea. I also notice a very tense shoulder and hips and a headache. Then I try I breathe peace and acceptance into those areas, I breathe out pain, fear, and suffering. Breathe in … Breathe out. Inhale… Exhale…

I’m in the sacred moment, my menstruation means I’m healthy and I’m grateful. This is my “winter”, resting time.  It’s okay to refuse to “look busy”, I need to rest. It’s okay to take a lot of time to pause and just breathe. My appetite is huge and that’s okay. I am so worried about everything now… Even the slightest thing could make me angry, and that’s okay too; all feelings are impermanent. I will let them dance in the sea of my mind.

Let them come, let them be, let them go.
