Stillness

I woke up early and did some stretching yoga today! A very successful wake up I say, then I proceed to meditate for 10 minutes ( oh I’m using the “down dog” app for my meditation), so the guru said that inside us there’s a beautiful stillness, a very peaceful place; we need to learn to come within, so we can have our peace  no matter what.

That doesn’t mean I don’t need to go to Lake Toba at the very least twice a year, or to holiday in a far strange land, of course to have a holiday trip is very beneficial for our health. The meditation guru said that this quiet place within us has so much strength and wisdom, and we don’t need to buy tickets or long drive to get there. This place is much more accessible than the holiday in Bali or Lake Toba, but we need to learn how to get within ourselves.

The best thing about starting my day like this is : I feed my monkey mind with good nutritious ideas to play with all day long. I am a recovering pessimist, I tend to worry so much about everything and then curl up in denial about it.

Today is different, I dare to say I’m successful to tame my mind today! Whenever my mind starts to do his usual job, worry about such and such, I inhale and exhale, I slow down my breath and say out loud inside my head, yes I have a life full of problems, but who doesn’t? I have a great life, am I not? And I cease to believe in ruminating about one two ten a hundred of things will do any good. I’m done. I’m going to move forward, not because I have extreme strength but moving and changing is the very nature of life itself.
