So today, I completed the James Clear’s book, Atomic Habits, I would say it’s a light volume of self help books, just around 200 pages read. I read it in two sittings. There are some interesting ideas and there are some pages that feels quite ‘off’ for me.

Some interesting pages in the atomic habits book made me understand the reason I could stick to this newly cultivate habits of writing, meditate and jogging on the treadmill. I actually linked these good habits with my old habits.

I always want to make a space to write about my day. It’s not really like journaling or gratitude journal… It’s a mix of everything, my writings, song lyrics, books, quotes, movie, photos. So I choose to do it at night after the whole family finish the dinner. It’s my wind down time, and instead of spending an hour to browse my socmed.. I write. I linked my old habits to wind down at the end of the day with my writing time. So far so good.

I need some time to actually wake up in the morning. And that “some time” usually take about 20-30 minutes. So I meditate right after I wake up. Yes I do fall asleep some times but I still think it works fine. I linked my old habits to lengthy fully wake up with meditation. A great combo ☺️.

I dread the treadmill time, most of the time. but I love the music. My treadmill time is actually where I could hear the music and think about nothing in particular. So I linked the treadmill time with music. It clicks.

Cheers, may you too can cultivate good habits.
