A Less Famous Compass

Not everyone is born with fire in their bones.
Some of us were shaped by quiet rooms,
by soft mornings, by the absence of noise.

We did not learn to compete.
We learned to observe.
To sit with the day as it is,
not as something to conquer.

While the world praises the driven life —
the rising, the reaching, the relentless pursuit —
some of us are guided by a less famous compass:
the acceptance of what is.

Not apathy.
Not giving up.
But a gentle nod to the way things are.
The way we are.

Some bloom through pushing.
Others through presence.
Both are valid.
Both are whole.

But let it be known:
The one who chooses stillness over speed,
peace over victory,
is not lost.
They simply have a less famous compass within them.
