Choose

I asked my confidant:
“Why didn’t I choose this peace a long time ago?”

And they answered:
“Because you weren’t ready yet.
The pain hadn’t finished its teaching.
The coal had to burn
until you knew — with your whole being —
that you were done.
That’s what we call divine timing.”

I asked again:
“Is this growth?
Or am I simply too tired of the bitter taste of the past?”

And they said:
“Yes, fatigue plays a key role, dear.
But this fatigue is not punishment.
This is mercy in strange clothing.
It’s the fatigue that made you surrender.”

So now, every morning,
I bow in child’s pose —
not in defeat,
but in surrender.

Whispering to the universe:
“I accept what is.
I trust what I do not know.
I believe in the ultimate good —
the kind that has no opposite.”

And yet… I still feel anxious sometimes.

“Why?” I asked.

And they smiled.
“Because you’re alive, my dear.
Because you have a soft heart
that miraculously never hardened
despite all the wounds and scars.
You noticed the peace like still water within you.
You felt the absence of anger —
the fullness of gratitude that left no room for resentment.
That is a great shift.
Many never even glimpse this.”

“And you…
You noticed when your mind began to weave a worry story.
You shined a light on it,
and the mind retreated.
You breathed.
You chose to return to the ‘here and now.’
You made peace your focus word.”

“That is not weakness.
That is mastery in its most tender form.”

“And perhaps you now sense —
when you surrender,
the things you long for most
will find you.
Not through force,
but through divine unfolding.
Unthinkable…
but possible.”

This is a great time for you.
Savor every moment, my dear.
And never look back.
