Barista

So today you’re paying a visit for me… Ok.. never set a schedule, you’re always surprising, and make me half-paralyzed. Fear and Deep anxiety, I cannot say I’m happy to see both of you today but, have a seat. I believe you have something important to tell me. I think you want to tell me that I need to set my priorities right regarding my financial management. Both of you can sense that I am going to do what I am not supposed to do. You both read my mind, and I admit I do have “plans”.

Dear Fear and Deep Anxiety, both of you are really strong, and you scared a hell out of me. But today, I feel something different, I am not as scared as I usually do whenever I meet both of you. When You visited me this morning, my monkey mind was out of control, I worried about everything that could happen, and I couldn’t do any of my work, I couldn’t focus, had zero concentration, and totally lost my interest. But I decided to walk in on my lunch break, I went to a tiny coffee shop about a 5-minute walk from the office, I sat there, ordered a Latte, and actually kinda hoped life would give me a clue on what to do.

As my prediction, life is a super weird comedian with a strange sense of humor, I sat there in a dark mood, feeling low, and literally had no idea what to do, and life gave me a super chatty barista! My goodness! Strangely, I found this whole situation amusing. This young barista told me about his wishes to have his own coffee shop, and that he learned this barista thing from scratch. I chatted with this young man and honestly, my mood was much lighter. I walked out from the coffee shop smiling and hopeful.

Thank you for your visit dear Fear and Deep anxiety, I know I have grown now, I can appreciate both of you, I don’t get lost in the abyss of distress, I appreciate your coming to warn me. But I know I am safe now. I have everything I need and even slightly more; So both of you may sit around but you’ll not make any decisions for me.

Cheers,

Karin Sabrina
