Have you ever heard a story about Salvador Dali who is looking for inspiration in his sleep; he’ll take a nap while holding a series of keys so at the verge of his dream, the keys will fall from his hand and wake him up. By this way, he’ll still remember his dream and paint it.
I also read that Mr. Einstein walked 3 miles (4.8 KM) every day while Mr Darwin walked 45 minutes 3 times a day. Their walks are sacred to them, it’s time for them to let their thoughts move freely..
I think the concept is great, when you are out of inspiration, you just go to sleep or walk somewhere.
Inspired by those great minds, whenever I feel emotionally stuck, or when my weary thought is going heavy, I started doing something that is completely un-related with whatever that is in my head. I do my laundry, ironing the clothes, I bake a banana cake… Even though there’s a giant problem in my life, I will have my giant problem in neat clothes and delicious banana cake đ đ đ . That’s my logic right now.
Perhaps the answer to the problem is not readily available yet at the time I finish ironing, or jogging or whatever… But still there’s a clear benefit of those activities.. I’m sure the answer is around the corner… But perhaps I still need some time, perhaps I need to understand some more.
May all of us be content with whatever life color we have at the current moment, cheers,
Karin Sabrina
