I am light, luminous, unburdened by the weight of past and future. Everything appears now washed in mesmerizing light. I see it all— even the unflattering rough parts once hidden in the dark. The light falls playfully on them, revealing their edges clearly. These rough places give the landscape its character. And I realize the whole is beautiful. Some parts are usually shown— the representative ones, as if they were everything. But this garden holds much more, and to deny it, is to miss its real beauty. I am light, and I am at peace. I rest on textured surfaces, playfully adorning them. Everything glows. I know some cannot accept my luminous presence. Perhaps they fear their scars will show too clearly. That is okay. They will find their way, to their own light— somehow, someday.
May all beings be at peace, and find kindness and joy.
